National Sales Manager – Shugart

Shugart Manufacturing – A Division of McLean Contracting Company, is looking to hire a National Sales Manager to join our team in Chester, SC. Employee can work remotely and report to Shugart in Chester, SC, as needed.

The National Sales Manager will lead and drive the sales strategy for the sectional barge business across the country. This role is responsible for expanding market presence, developing customer relationships, and driving revenue growth by promoting Shugart barge products to various industries such as construction and marine logistics. The individual in this position will develop business plans and collaborate with the Shugart Manufacturing Director to ensure the company’s product offerings meet market demand.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Identifies new market opportunities and customer segments to expand business across various regions.

Establishes clear sales goals, tracks performance metrics, and continuously optimizes strategies.

Builds and maintains strong, long-lasting relationships with key customers, decision makers, and industry influencers.

Serves as the main point of contact for large, strategic clients and provides exceptional service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Works closely with the customer service and technical teams to address customer needs and ensures timely product delivery.

Conducts market research to monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activity in the sectional barge market.

Provides insight for management regarding potential product improvements, pricing strategies, and marketing initiatives.

Utilizes CRM tools and other sales analytics platforms to analyze sales data and identify areas of improvement.

Leads and participates in customer meetings, sales presentations, and negotiations to close deals.

Develops compelling sales proposals and provides technical and commercial product demonstrations to clients.

Negotiates contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.

Collaborates with the product development and marketing teams to align product offerings with market demand.

Works closely with operations, logistics, and engineering teams to ensure that the sales process runs smoothly from order to delivery.

Provides feedback from customers to help refine product designs and service offerings.

Demonstrates the ability to perform work tasks without constant supervision.

Sets an example in observance of Company policies and procedures, including safety.

Remains productive throughout the day and demonstrates dependability including consistent attendance.

Attends and actively participates in any training required by the Company.

Performs other duties as assigned with a cooperative attitude.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales or business development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role in the marine or construction industry. Experience selling heavy equipment, marine infrastructure, or similar industrial products and/or a strong understanding of the sectional barge industry and its applications is required.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation to work and able to pass a drug screen and criminal history background check. Required to work with employees at all levels across the Company.

Proficiency in CRM software and MS office Suite; knowledge of sales analytics tools is a plus.
