Safety Coordinator

McLean Contracting Company is looking to hire a Safety Coordinator to join our team in the Annapolis, MD area.

Safety Coordinators perform a variety of routine administrative, technical and professional work in analyzing and administering various components of the environmental, health and safety programs.

• Performs jobsite inspections and monitors compliance of company employees and subcontractors with all safety rules and regulations,

• Prepares reports,

• Possesses knowledge of hazardous condition elimination by recommending engineering controls, administering controls and/or PPE,

• Possesses the ability to work independently as well as communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing,

• Possesses knowledge of basic computer systems/software, organization and capability of multi-tasking.

This position requires 5 years of experience and working knowledge of all applicable Federal, State and local environmental, health and safety laws as wells as the Company’s own safety policies/procedures and Customer’s specific safety standards as they may relate to the work. This position requires a high school diploma or GED. EM 385 certification is a must.

Other Skills and Abilities

Must be at least 18 years old, have reliable transportation to work and able to pass a physical. Must be able to pass a Homeland Security background check to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC).
