Piledrivers – VA

McLean Contracting Company is seeking qualified piledrivers to join our growing team in Hampton Roads, VA region. Ideal applicants will have experience with wood, concrete, steel and pipe piles in the marine/heavy construction field.

Essential duties

• Pushes, pulls, drags and hooks piles into position for driving.
• Aligns interlocking sheet piles into position for driving.
• Verifies alignment of piles.
• Signals crane operator to raise or drive piles into leads.
• Working knowledge various pile hammers, possesses the ability to repair if necessary.
• Places heavy loads with crane assistance.
• Reads and understanding of rigging instruction.

Performs other job related duties as required.

Safety

• Integrates safety rules in all work elements; installation, movement and storage.
• Prevents and/or corrects unsafe conditions as the need arises.
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and/or 2 years related experience
• Reliable transportation to work
• Effective Communication Skills
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
