FLOATING WHIRLEY CRANES

Our versatile, fully revolving floating cranes offer lifting capacities ranging from 35 to 250 tons. Mounted on deck barges sized from 106 feet x 46 feet up to 175 feet x 75 feet, these cranes maintain their full lifting capacity throughout a full 360-degree rotation.

Our crawler cranes range in lifting capacity from 70 to 275 tons and when paired with a deck barge or a custom configuration of Shugart sectional barges, they provide a versatile and stable working platform adaptable to a wide range of marine conditions.

McLean’s dredging fleet includes two duty-cycle clamshell dredges with capacities ranging from 120 tons to 200 tons, a hydraulic cutterhead suction dredge, and a compact barge mounted excavator dredge. This versatile fleet is well-equipped to handle a variety of material types and operate effectively across a range of water depths.

McLean owns and operates two regional construction yards located in Baltimore, MD, and Chesapeake, VA. The Baltimore Yard offers over 1,200 feet of deep-water access in Curtis Bay, directly off the Patapsco River. The Chesapeake Yard provides 600 feet of deep-water frontage along the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River, with convenient access to both the Intracoastal Waterway System and the Atlantic Ocean.

Since 2018, McLean operates the Port Weanack Marine Terminal and Dredged Material Treatment and Disposal Facility in Charles City, VA. The terminal features a 400-foot sheet pile bulkhead, 300 feet of dolphins aligned with the dock face, a 400’ x 400’ asphalt laydown area, and 26 acres of upland support space. With a fully permitted upland facility capable of treating and disposing of lightly contaminated dredged sediments, over 1,000,000 cubic yards of remaining capacity, and more than 20 feet of water depth at Mean Lower Low Water, Weanack offers a strategic and flexible solution for diverse dredge material disposal options.
