  • This complex marine project is for an overhead transmission circuit that spans the Patapsco River adjacent to the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland is currently under construction. The new overhead line segment will be supported by new steel monopole towers at 8 locations, 5 of which will be in the Patapsco River. These in-water towers will range in height from 126 feet to 397 feet above the Patapsco River. The project features large concrete foundations supported by 24, 36, 42, and 54-inch steel pipe piles with wall thicknesses up to 1.25 inches. The foundation design utilizes a combination of precast and cast-in-place concrete to facilitate construction. The main channel tower foundations are protected by a heavily reinforced concrete and steel fender ring protection system.
  • Unloading platform & material conveyor system. This progressive design build project started with 60% design documents and working with the design Engineer (WBCM) to advance the design to 100%  and negotiate a final price. McLean teamed up Ebsary Foundation Company, a local Florida based marine foundation contractor for this project. Together the McLean/ Ebsary team introduced alternate design concepts through value engineering to create the best value for the project and owner.
